Yoga in Ballarat

I offer several classes per week in my Ballarat Yoga Studio. Yoga for Health & Relaxation classes are suitable for those who are reasonably fit and/or who have done some Yoga before. Yoga for Spinal Health classes are for those who are new to Yoga; those wishing to improve their core strength; and those who have some spinal issues or joint mobility restrictions.

My classes have a strong emphasis on breath awareness and introspection in an environment of non-competitiveness. All classes consist of yoga postures (Asanas), deep relaxation (Yoga Nidra) and breathing practices (Pranayama). Yoga for Spinal Health classes start with a short relaxation and the Yoga for Health & Relaxation classes begin with a short meditation/settling practice.

It is well documented that regular practice of Yoga may assist you with the following:
  • improved flexibility
  • improved strength
  • improved energy levels
  • and decreased stress levels
However, most people will choose to do Yoga because it helps put some balance and harmony back into their busy and/or stressful lives. Yoga is for everyone, regardless of age.

If you have any health issues, or you are not sure about the suitability of Yoga for you, please discuss this with me prior to enrolling in a class. I also work one-to-one, if this might suit your needs better.

    Yoga for Health & Relaxation

    The following classes are suitable for beginners to progressive-beginners with some Yoga experience. All classes have a strong emphasis on breath awareness and introspection in an environment of non-competitiveness. Each class includes Asana, Pranayama and Yoga Nidra. Modifications are given for any injuries, health conditions and restriction of movement.

    Yoga for Spinal Health

    The following classes are suitable for beginners, for those wishing to improve their Core strength and stability, and those wishing to learn the basics before moving to a progressive class.

    Yoga for Spinal Health will focus on basic Yoga postures (Asanas) to improve spinal and overall flexibility, and core (abdominal/back) strengthening. Postures will be practiced lying on the mat as well as on the hands and knees, and in standing position. There will be an emphasis on breath awareness throughout the practices and stillness between some of the postures.

    Physiotherapy principles (Audrey us a qualified Physiotherapist) will also be incorporated, such as abdominal bracing, shoulder and hip stability, and working within the limits of pain and stiffness. Modifications are given for any injuries, health issues and mobility restrictions. A deep relaxation (Yoga Nidra) and simple breath practices (Pranayama), are a part of each class.

    A NOTE TO ALL NEW AND EXISTING STUDENTS
    To make sure that classes are settled and ready to commence on time I request that all students arrive 10 minutes prior to the start time. Your assistance with this request would be greatly appreciated.

  • Enrolment Details

    Before enrolling you need to understand the following (the Fine Print):

    • I do not offer casual places or discounts for any of my classes.
    • A $20.00 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place in a class.
    • The balance of the fee must be paid prior to the commencement of the first class - no exceptions. If you are not able to make the first class (for any reason) please call to arrange your payment, or use the option below.
    • No refunds will be issued once the term has commenced.
    • I offer a maximum of 2 make-up classes per term. The following conditions apply: 1) you first need to consult me about available space, 2) classes cannot be made up once the term has ended.
    • If you are a new student please phone me (0422 523 474), before enrolling; to ascertain whether my classes are suitable for you.
    • Finally, print off and complete the enrolment form (click on button below), and mail or email it to me, or bring it along to the first class.

  • Payment Details

    Cash

    Simply bring along the correct amount at the commencement of the first class. Of course if you are wishing to pay the deposit one of the methods below is preferable unless you ring and arrange a time to drop off a cash deposit of $20.

    Card

    I accept credit card/debit card payments using the following: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Apple Pay, Android Pay. A small transaction fee of 1.6% applies (2.2% if done over the phone or processed manually), may apply.

    PayId

    We now accept PayID. This method of payment does not attract any Transaction Fees. However all payments must be made prior to the commencement of the first class.
